Ted was born in Tucson, Arizona, and moved to Kingman when he was two years of age. Ted grew up in Kingman where he attended elementary school, junior high, and high school. He graduated from Kingman High School in 1976.
Ted Worked for ten years in law enforcement for Mohave County and the City of Bullhead. While working in law enforcement, he worked as a watercraft officer; a patrol officer; a detective; a member of the S.W.A.T. team; and a rescue recovery scuba diver. He was awarded a Medal of Courage in 1984 for saving six people from drowning in the Colorado River. While employed with the City of Bullhead, Ted had the opportunity to return to college. Ted graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Management from the University of Phoenix.
Additionally, Ted worked for the BNSF Railway Company for almost 13 years and was based out of Kingman. During his career with BNSF, Ted worked in California, Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas.
While starting out as a trackman laborer, Ted was promoted to the position of Extra Gang Foreman overseeing work groups ranging from two to 35 employees. He was responsible for his employee's performance and assured that their duties were carried out in a safe manner and met the standards of the BNSF Railway and the FRA (Federal Railroad Administration). Ted held this position for approximately eight years.
Ted advanced to the office manager and trainer position for BNSF. As a manager, Ted was responsible for a range of duties including ordering materials for work groups, scheduling the weekly work plan for over 20 employees, and monitoring the budget.
Ted is currently employed with Mohave County as the Drainage Maintenance Supervisor for the Flood Control District. Ted was initially hired by Mohave County to develop a countywide channel maintenance program. Central to his duties as Mohave County's Drainage Maintenance Supervisor is managing the maintenance of all Mohave County drainage infrastructure. This is accomplished with assistance and guidance from Flood Control Engineers and the support of Management and the Mohave County Board of Supervisors.
In addition to Ted's extensive professional management experience, he is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys hunting, fishing, camping, hiking, boating, and a variety of other outdoor activities.
